Candidates can obtain accommodation with host families subject to availability.
(except for Level 1,2,3 and Amateur Concert Pianist)
Applications for accommodation with a host family may only be made at the same time as registration. Accommodation (bed and breakfast) is for candidates only. Other meals and travel arrangements (from the host family to the competition location and vice versa) are not included and will not be refunded.
Candidates must arrive in the host family on the day appearing on their notice to attend or the day before (before 10.00 pm) and must leave their host families the day after the results or after their elimination (after 8.00 am), save where some other arrangement has been agreed between the candidate and the host family.
Host families who own a piano will allow candidates to practice on it at least two hours a day.
Candidates are required to respect the host family’s privacy and living habits. In particular, they must tell the host family if they are going out, be back before 10 p.m., must keep the rooms that they are using tidy and clean, and must not smoke.
Candidates must contact their host family at least two weeks before the start of the competition. They must confirm their arrival time one week before the competition starts. If this is not done, accommodation will be given to another candidate.
OPUS YVELINES and host families will not accept any liability in case of theft or accident relating to the candidate staying with the family. In the event a candidate is less than 18 years old, written authorisation will be required from his/her parents.
